Buying the character you want...

So you may notice that a Full Conversion Cyborg character can cost 40 to 80,000 Euro. Being a Bioroid isn't cheap either, once youve chosen all the implants, custom bioengineering and so forth that you want, you will have a big ol' chunky bill to pay off. So here's how you we solve that problem: YOU'RE IN THE MILITARY! Weeeee, that's right, all player characters are automatically in the military. And you have to stay in the military untill you have earned the cost of your character in combined monthly salaries. This gives you an idea of how "Short" you are.

For example:

Say you're a Full Conversion Cyborg, with a $60,000 eb body and a Combat Sense Special Ability of 6. I don't have the chart in front of me but let's say for example that you then earn a $5000 eb monthly salary. You just divide the 60,000 body cost by the 5000 monthly salary and you have 12 months to go before you've run enough missions to earn your enhancements and can honorably discharge from service. Yes, you DO get to keep the body, your old meat-frame is long gone to Army body-banks for parts.

You say you feel like some more upgrades and enhancements? Well you can always enlist for a second tour of duty. The Corps would love to have you!

This applies also for Bioroids, ESPers, Nekos, and anybody else with enhancements or equipment that cost more than their starting Euro. So if you buy your own LandMate, civilian helicopter, racing motorcycle, huge cache of firearms, or whatever, the way to pay is to work off the cost in service to the Earth Federation Military. The Military pays for all your food, provides some semblance of lodging and covers all medical needs for the duration of your enlistment so you're just paying off your stuff.
One exception to this is Bioroids and Cyborgs. They have to have annual Longevity Treatments and Standard Maintenance. The cost of which is a percentage, randomly rolled, of their total expenditure in implants and enhancements as shown below:

REPAIR & MAINTENANCE COSTS
Routine Annual Maintenance (Parts) .......... 1D10% Base cost of all your cybernetics/enhancements
Repair Labor ........................................... 10-200% Parts

For Example:
That Cyborg from before with the 60000 eb body needs annual mainenance, the player rolls 1d10 and comes up with a 4. That's 4% of 60,000 or 2400 eb PLUS 1D20 x 10% of the 2400. The player rolls a 13, multiplies it by 10% for 130% for a total of 3,120 eb. So his total cost for annual maintenance is $5,520.00 eb. Over a month's pay!

This extra cost must be paid BEFORE you can get out of the military no matter how little time you had to spend in service, and also each year for the rest of your life as a private citizen. When you are still in active duty, the Military pays this cost for you. Bioroids can automatically get employment and Longevity Treatments by going to work for AEGIS and living in Olympus after their tour of duty. They are automatically accepted. Cyborgs have a lot of job opportunities in the private sector as well.
